SENKI

Weight and clarity. Confrontation and empathy. Heavy, emotionally direct songs about seeing ourselves clearly and choosing change.

Our story

SENKI began in 2018 as Ákos Rikter’s solo project, literally within the walls of his room. It grew from a childhood dream: after years of not finding the right musicians around him, Ákos decided to stop waiting. With rough home recordings, he began building the project one song at a time, without thinking in terms of an album. As each song was finished, it was shared independently on Facebook and YouTube.

The solo era did not remain an online-only project. SENKI played numerous club shows and also appeared at Fekete Zaj Festival, with Ákos still standing alone on stage at the time.

In 2022, the deliberate transition from solo project to band began. Olivér was the first to join, and over the following years the lineup gradually took shape around them. After several changes, the drummer position stabilised with Adrián Miskoltzy joining at the end of 2025. In summer 2026, guitarist Adrián Szabó completed SENKI’s current four-piece lineup.

Important milestones along the way include the Hűség EP (2023), Disztópia (2024) and the Szilánkok EP (2025). Szilánkok was released through a licensing agreement with WormHoleDeath, while shows with Ektomorf brought important international live experience.

What began with one person making songs at home has grown into a full band and the foundation of a new international chapter.

What SENKI is about

SENKI is a Hungarian modern/extreme metal band built on contrast: weight and clarity, confrontation and empathy. Its songs examine social pressure, self-deception, everyday struggle and the possibility of personal change without placing the band above the listener.

The band does not speak from outside these conflicts or offer easy answers. It comes from the same contradictions its listeners live through, using music, lyrics and visual language as parts of one whole.

The Hungarian and English lyrics are not simple translations of one another. Each language receives its own text so the same emotional and conceptual core can work naturally.

New chapter

SENKI now operates as a four-piece and is entering a new international chapter with a completed album in Hungarian and English. The visual world is evolving with it: real locations, physical presence and human imperfection instead of artificial rock-star distance.

The first public chapter of this new era is Contrast.
